Names ranked #1501–2000: the last of the charted

100 names · 50 girls · 50 boys · records through 2025

This is the bottom of the band the site tracks trends in. Names rank far below #2000 in the records — the tail runs past #14,000 — but past this line a year's handful of births moves a name hundreds of places, so a trend read off it would be noise. These are the rarest names the site will still call rising or falling.

This guide has 100 names: 50 girl names and 50 boy names. Names currently ranked #1501–2000 nationally, ordered by rank. Built from US Social Security birth records through 2025. Tap + beside any name to keep it on your shortlist as you read.

Before the names

Rare here does not mean unusable: each of these cleared the same counting threshold as every other name in the records, which means real families arrived at it independently in the same year.

If a name almost nobody shares is the goal, this page and the ultra-rare list are the two deepest cuts the site publishes.

I

Girl names

II

Boy names

Every rank and count here is published by the US Social Security Administration and refreshed each year when the new figures land. The method is stated at the top of this page.
