Tell us about the baby

The baby

Sets the countdown, times the guidance, and keeps suggestions on one side of the charts.

When is the baby due?

The month is enough — it sets the countdown and times the guidance.

Know the exact date? Add it
An exact date wins over the month.
Do you know who’s coming?

The family

The last name switches on the say-it-aloud checks — flow, initials, accidental rhymes. Your state opens the charts where you live.

Add a middle name or older siblings
Older siblings’ names

Keeps suggestions from clashing — the same initial, a rhyme, a near twin.

Your taste

Suggestions lean this way. Nothing is ever hidden from you because of an answer here.

Before you start

Do I need an account?
No. Browse every name, battle two names, swipe a deck and save favorites without one. A free account keeps your shortlist and answers across devices.
Why ask for a due month, not a date?
The month is all the site uses: it sets the countdown and times the guidance, which turns decisive 6 weeks out. If you know the exact date, add it — it is optional.
What happens to my last name?
It stays in your profile and powers the say-it-aloud checks — how a first name sounds against it, the initials, the accidental rhymes. It appears only on pages you create and share.
Can I change my answers later?
Any time, here or under Your family in My names. Every answer is optional, and nothing is hidden from you because of one.
Does my partner or my mother need an account?
No. Anyone you send a link to votes or swipes in one tap on their phone, with no account and no cost.
Where do the numbers come from?
5 national statistics agencies, led by the US Social Security Administration's birth records since 1880. Ranks and counts are measured; forecasts are computed and say so.

Not sure? Swipe first.

A few minutes of yes-or-no builds a first shortlist, and everything else follows from it.
