The story of Anastasiya
Anastasia was one of the great names of the Orthodox world long before it was a Western one: Saint Anastasia of Sirmium is commemorated on Christmas Day in the Roman calendar, and the name has been continuously used in Greece, Russia, Ukraine and the Balkans. Russian gives it as Anastasiya, and its short form Nastya is one of the most-used women's names in the country. The Romanov grand duchess of the name, killed in 1918, gave it a long afterlife in Western popular culture through a series of impostors and films. Anastasiya with the y is the Russian transliteration, and its best year in United States records is 2019.

Spellings are grouped by a fixed rule that folds interchangeable English spellings of one sound (ck/k, ph/f, x/ks, a non-initial y for i) and keeps vowels apart, so Sean and Shawn stay separate names. Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Anastasiya's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Dannetta climbed just as high around 1960, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Dannetta's path sketches the road Anastasiya is walking now.
