The story of Annastasia
Anastasia was borne by a fourth-century martyr honored in both the Greek and Latin churches, and by a great many Byzantine and Russian women after her. Russia took it as Anastasiya and made Nastya its everyday form; it was borne by the last tsar's youngest daughter, which is the association most Americans have. Annastasia with the doubled n is a modern American respelling that pulls Anna into visibility.

Spellings are grouped by a fixed rule that folds interchangeable English spellings of one sound (ck/k, ph/f, x/ks, a non-initial y for i) and keeps vowels apart, so Sean and Shawn stay separate names.
