Shamiyah
Feminine
The Arabic feminine ending is a letter that looks like an h and is usually silent. That is why Fatima and Fatimah, Aisha and Aishah, are the same name written twice, and why an American name ending in -iyah is borrowing a piece of Arabic grammar it does not use.

Our story of Shamiyah
The ta marbuta is one of the more elegant devices in Arabic writing. It marks the feminine and is drawn as the letter h with the two dots of a t above it, because it is pronounced as a t when the word is followed by a grammatical ending and left silent otherwise. So the same written form covers both possibilities, and the reader supplies the right one. When Arabic names are written in Roman letters this collapses: English has no way to write a letter that is sometimes t, sometimes silent and always feminine, so transliterators fall back on -a or -ah and choose more or less at random. Fatima, Fatimah, Aisha, Aishah, Khadija, Khadijah are all pairs of the same name. American coinage then picked up the -ah and the -iyah as shapes, and they now appear on names with no Arabic behind them at all.
Meaningnot established
Not established
Shamiyah has no inherited etymology. It joins a Sha- opening to an -iyah ending. That ending is genuine in Arabic, where -iyya is a feminine adjectival suffix and the final letter, the ta marbuta, is written as a form of h and usually not sounded. Neither element carries meaning in this combination. The peak is 2008.

Spellings are grouped by a fixed rule that folds interchangeable English spellings of one sound (ck/k, ph/f, x/ks, a non-initial y for i) and keeps vowels apart, so Sean and Shawn stay separate names.
