A family could combine one of each and produce something that sounded entirely familiar to everyone who heard it and had never existed before. That is a genuine achievement of a naming system: it means the stock is not a finite list to be chosen from but a grammar that generates. Almost every naming tradition has one — Germanic compounds, Hebrew sentences, Igbo chi-phrases — and this is America's. Jamaree peaks in 1993.
