Grahm
Masculine · “Old English "gravelly homestead”
Graham is said two ways across the Atlantic, and Grahm picks a side. British speakers give it two syllables, GRAY-um; Americans frequently compress it to one, GRAM. The respelling records the American pronunciation and abandons the letter that supports the other one.

The story of Grahm
The two-syllable pronunciation is the older one and matches the spelling: the h separates two vowels, as in Abraham and Birmingham. American speech has compressed a good many such names — Birmingham becomes BUR-ming-ham in Alabama and BUR-ming-um in England, and Graham loses a syllable entirely for many speakers. Once the compressed form is the one a family says, the spelling with the a stops earning its place, and Grahm is the result. It is a small demonstration that respellings usually follow pronunciation rather than leading it. The American figures for Grahm peak in 2008.
Meaning
Old English "gravelly homestead"
From Grantham in Lincolnshire, recorded in Domesday Book as Grantham and Grandham, generally read as a gravelly or homestead name; the first element is disputed. A Norman follower took the name to Scotland in the twelfth century, where the Grahams became a major family. The graham cracker is named after Sylvester Graham, an American dietary reformer of the 1830s, and is unrelated to the name's origin.

The Kwabena test
Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Grahm's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Kwabena climbed just as high around 1990, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Kwabena's path sketches the road Grahm is walking now.
Grahm sits in the calm middle of the cycle — neither chasing a wave nor sliding off one. Middle-of-the-cycle names age slowly and predictably.
