Feliciana

Felix did not originally mean lucky. It meant fruitful, of soil and of trees, and only later moved to fortunate. The same root gives fecund, fertile, fetus and, by a longer route, the word female, all of them turning on the idea of suckling and bearing.

The story of Feliciana
The Indo-European root behind felix means to suck or suckle, and its Latin descendants cluster around nourishment and bearing young. Fecundus is fertile. Fetus is the offspring or the bearing of it. Femina, a woman, is generally explained as the one who suckles. Filius, a son, may belong to the family. Felix itself starts out agricultural: a felix arbor is a fruit-bearing tree in the language of Roman religion, as opposed to an infelix arbor, an unlucky or barren one used for hanging criminals. From fruitful the word moved to prosperous and then to happy, and by the classical period the agricultural sense was archaic. Arabia Felix, the Roman name for Yemen, keeps the older meaning: it was the fertile Arabia, as distinct from the desert and the rocky parts.
Meaning
Latin felix, fruitful or fortunate
Feliciana is the Spanish and Italian feminine of Felicianus, a derived form of Felix, from Latin felix, originally fruitful or fertile and later happy or fortunate. The root is the same as in fecundus, fertile, and femina, a woman, all built on a stem meaning to suckle. Several early martyrs bore the name. The American peak is 1904.
