The story of Brucha
The rabbinic system of blessings is unusually comprehensive. There are blessings before eating, distinguished by what the food is and how it grew; blessings on performing a commandment; blessings on natural phenomena, including thunder, lightning, comets, mountains and the sea; a blessing on seeing a rainbow, which recalls the covenant with Noah; one on smelling fragrant spices; one on seeing a person of unusual appearance; one on hearing good news and a different one, blessing the true judge, on hearing bad. The Talmud sets a target of a hundred blessings a day. The underlying idea is stated plainly in the tractate: to enjoy the world without a blessing is a kind of theft. So the word behind the name is not an abstraction but the busiest liturgical unit in the tradition.

Brucha's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Rifka climbed just as high around 1974, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Rifka's path sketches the road Brucha is walking now.
Brucha sits in the calm middle of the cycle — neither chasing a wave nor sliding off one. Middle-of-the-cycle names age slowly and predictably.
