Vaden
Masculine
Vaden is overwhelmingly a boys’ name — 568 boys against 6 girls since 1880.
English words do not end in v. Love, have, give and above all add a silent e that does nothing except keep the letter from standing last, and the only exceptions are recent clippings like spiv and rev. It is one of the few absolute rules in English spelling.

Our story of Vaden
The rule about final v is worth stating because it is one of the very few things in English orthography that admits no exceptions in the inherited vocabulary. Every native word that ends in the v sound is written with a silent e: love, dove, give, have, live, above, glove, sleeve, believe. The e is not marking a long vowel, since the vowels in love and give are short; it is there purely because English scribes would not let v stand at the end of a word, a convention inherited from a period when u and v were the same letter and a final one would have been read as a vowel. The modern exceptions are all twentieth-century clippings and loans: spiv, rev, guv, Slav. Names follow the same rule, which is why a name can begin with v freely and effectively never ends with one.
Meaningnot established
Not established
Vaden has no established origin. It is recorded as an American surname, chiefly southern, of uncertain derivation, and may be a variant of Vadin or of an unrelated name. As a given name it belongs to the -aden family in modern use, though the 1941 peak predates that fashion by fifty years. The peak is 1941.

The Napolean test
Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Vaden's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Napolean climbed just as high around 1925, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Napolean's path sketches the road Vaden is walking now.
Vaden sits in the calm middle of the cycle — neither chasing a wave nor sliding off one. Middle-of-the-cycle names age slowly and predictably.
