The -iah and -yah endings entered wide American use late in the last century, borrowed from the Hebrew names that had always been in circulation — Isaiah, Jeremiah, Aaliyah — and then extended to names with no Hebrew anywhere else in them. The prefixes were already in place from an older layer of the same tradition. What is worth noticing is that the borrowing is not careless: -yah at the end of a name sounds finished in a way that a bare vowel does not, and the tradition selected it for that reason rather than for its grammar. The y in the middle marks the syllable break, which is the one piece of this spelling doing real work.

Micaiah is a genuine Hebrew name and a genuine question: mi ka Yah, who is like the Lord — the same sentence that gives Michael and Micah, spoken as a challenge rather than a description. If Makyah descended from it the meaning would come with it. But the name is far more likely to have been built from a standard prefix and a standard ending, in which case the -yah is a shape rather than the divine name, and nothing carries across. Neither can be shown, so the meaning is not established.
