Element reversal is a regular feature of Hebrew naming and it produces some surprising equivalences. Yeshayahu and Yehoshua are salvation and Yah in either order. Yehoyakim and Elyakim both say the god raises up, with a different god-word at either end. Ahaziah and Jehoahaz reverse the same pair again. Because the elements are ordinary words rather than fossilized name-particles, they can be assembled either way and the clause still works. The consequence for anyone tracing names is that two forms with no letters in common can be exact synonyms, while two forms that look similar may share nothing at all.
