Glorianna

The story of Glorianna
Spenser's Gloriana is one half of a deliberate double portrait — Elizabeth appears in the poem both as the Faerie Queene and as the chaste huntress Belphoebe — and the name stayed attached to her afterward, used by historians and poets whenever the Elizabethan age is being romanticized. It entered actual American use in the twentieth century, alongside Gloria, which was itself made fashionable by a 1922 novel and by Hollywood. Glorianna with the doubled n peaked in 1929, in the middle of Gloria's own rise.
Meaning
Latin "glory", with a decorative ending
From Latin gloria, glory or fame, the root of glorious and glorify. Spenser added the -ana ending on a Latin model to make a name suited to a monarch. Gloria itself became a common given name only in the twentieth century; Gloriana precedes it by three hundred years but was purely literary until then.

Spellings are grouped by a fixed rule that folds interchangeable English spellings of one sound (ck/k, ph/f, x/ks, a non-initial y for i) and keeps vowels apart, so Sean and Shawn stay separate names. It errs towards splitting: a family here is never larger than the truth. SSA national data, 2025. Method
