Delvon
Masculine
German von and Dutch van look like the same thing and are not. Von became a mark of nobility in German-speaking Europe; van in the Netherlands never meant anything of the kind and is carried by millions of ordinary families. The -von at the end of an American name is a third thing again, related to neither.

Our story of Delvon
The nobiliary particles are worth separating because English speakers routinely read one for another. German von indicated noble origin from roughly the seventeenth century, was legally regulated, and was abolished as a title in 1919 though it survives as part of the surname. Dutch van simply means from and attaches to a place, a trade or a feature; van Gogh, van Dijk and van der Berg are ordinary names carried by ordinary families, and in the Netherlands the particle signals nothing at all about rank. French de and Spanish de likewise mean of and are found in noble and unremarkable families alike, since the point was originally to say where someone came from. None of this touches an American name ending in -von, which arrived through Devon and carries a county rather than a particle, and which any reader looking for aristocracy in it will misread completely.
Meaningnot established
Not established
Delvon has no inherited etymology. It joins the American prefix Del- or De- to a -von ending taken from Devon or Javon. The German particle von, of, and the Dutch van are unrelated to it despite the identical spelling. Devon itself is genuine: the English county is named for the Dumnonii, a British tribe. The peak is 1989.

Delvon's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Rondy climbed just as high around 1964, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Rondy's path sketches the road Delvon is walking now.
