The story of Uriah
Uriah the Hittite is a foreign soldier in David's army, and the story is unsparing: David takes his wife, tries to cover it, and finally has him placed where he will be killed. Nathan's rebuke follows. The text treats Uriah as the honorable man in the account. Dickens later gave the name to Uriah Heep, which fixed an unfortunate association in English.

About 1 girl in 37,378 born in 2025 was given one of these spellings — against 1 in 53,576 for Uriah itself.
Spellings are grouped by a fixed rule that folds interchangeable English spellings of one sound (ck/k, ph/f, x/ks, a non-initial y for i) and keeps vowels apart, so Sean and Shawn stay separate names. It errs towards splitting: a family here is never larger than the truth. SSA national data, 2025. Method

The Lorenzo test
Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Uriah's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Lorenzo climbed just as high around 1925, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Lorenzo's path sketches the road Uriah is walking now.
