The story of Silvano
Roman religion was full of small, specific gods, and Silvanus was among the most-worshipped by ordinary people, with dedications left by farmers, soldiers and freedmen across the empire. His name became a common personal name, and the New Testament has a Silvanus who travels with Paul, usually called Silas, which carried it into Christian use. Italian and Spanish took it as Silvano; it was widely given in Italy into the twentieth century and came to American records with Italian and Mexican families.

The Alanson test
Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Silvano's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Alanson climbed just as high around 1927, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Alanson's path sketches the road Silvano is walking now.
Silvano sits in the calm middle of the cycle — neither chasing a wave nor sliding off one. Middle-of-the-cycle names age slowly and predictably.
