The story of Reggie
Reginald came to England with the Normans as Reginaldus, the Latin form of the Norse Rögnvaldr, and stayed a standard English name for eight centuries. English speech clipped it to Reg and Reggie, and American families registered the clipping outright from the 1920s. It appears in the registers in current use.
