Our story of Aria
Ours, offered as ours. Iran's name means land of the Aryans, from Old Persian aryanam — and the word arya in its original Indo-Iranian use simply meant one of us, a member of the people, before nineteenth-century European race theory took it and did great damage with it. Iran adopted the name officially in 1935. Aria as a Persian men's name draws on that original sense, and the Hebrew lion and the Italian air are separate.
Meaningscholars disagree
noble; or lion
Persian and Sanskrit arya means noble and gives Iran its name — the land of the Aryans, in the original geographic sense. Hebrew arieh is a lion. Italian aria is air and gives the musical sense. All three are documented.

Spellings are grouped by a fixed rule that folds interchangeable English spellings of one sound (ck/k, ph/f, x/ks, a non-initial y for i) and keeps vowels apart, so Sean and Shawn stay separate names. It errs towards splitting: a family here is never larger than the truth. SSA national data, 2025. Method

Line the two peaks up, and Thorne's path sketches the road Aria is walking now.
