Our story of Taisha
The hadith corpus — reports of what the Prophet said and did — is the second source of Islamic law after the Qur'an, and it is organized by chains of transmission back to eyewitnesses. Aisha is one of the largest single links in those chains, credited with something over two thousand reports, many of them concerning domestic and personal matters no male companion could have witnessed. She outlived Muhammad by decades, taught openly, and was consulted on points of law by the community's leading figures. Her name entered American use in the 1970s in the general adoption of Arabic names, and it then became a stem: Taisha, Latisha, Keisha and Nakisha all use the -isha ending, most of them without any connection to the original. Taisha peaks in 1980.
Meaning
Arabic "living, alive"
From ʿāʾisha, living or prosperous, from a root meaning to live. Aisha bint Abi Bakr was the Prophet's wife and one of the most important early transmitters of hadith. Taisha is an American formation joining the Ta- prefix to that name or to the -isha ending drawn from it; the compound has no documented meaning of its own.

The Wynell test
Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Taisha's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Wynell climbed just as high around 1932, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Wynell's path sketches the road Taisha is walking now.
Taisha sits in the calm middle of the cycle — neither chasing a wave nor sliding off one. Middle-of-the-cycle names age slowly and predictably.
