The story of Tahlia
Talia is a modern Israeli name built on the biblical word for dew, and Thalia is one of the nine Muses, the one of comedy and pastoral poetry. The two converged in English spelling. Tahlia became particularly common in Australia from the 1990s. It appears in the American registers and is in current use.
Meaningscholars disagree
dew of God; lamb
Two Hebrew routes. From tal, 'dew', with the divine element Yah — so 'dew from God'. Or from talya, an Aramaic word for a young lamb. The Greek Thalia, from thallein, 'to bloom', is a third and separate name. All are in use and none is dominant.

The Raechel test
Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Tahlia's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Raechel climbed just as high around 1991, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Raechel's path sketches the road Tahlia is walking now.
Tahlia sits in the calm middle of the cycle — neither chasing a wave nor sliding off one. Middle-of-the-cycle names age slowly and predictably.

The trade-off
- The dew-of-God reading is concrete and unusually lovely.
- Tali and Lia are two short forms, both real names in their own right.
- Three syllables of open vowels, which carries unusually well.
- The origin is genuinely split three ways between two Hebrew routes and a Greek one.
- Talia and Thalia are both commoner spellings.
- The h is silent and will need explaining.
