The story of Sanjana
The story is told in the Puranas and it is stranger than most. Sanjna, daughter of the divine craftsman Vishvakarma, marries Surya the sun and finds his brilliance unendurable. Rather than leave openly she creates Chhaya, her own shadow, gives her instructions and departs, and Chhaya lives as Surya's wife for years without his noticing, bearing children of her own, including Shani, the planet Saturn. When the substitution is discovered Vishvakarma trims the sun's radiance on a lathe, and the shavings are made into the weapons of the gods. The name itself means awareness, and in the grammatical tradition it means a technical term, the label attached to a thing so it can be discussed at all.

The Misha test
Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Sanjana's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Misha climbed just as high around 1972, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Misha's path sketches the road Sanjana is walking now.
