Ours, offered as ours. Rosalind's real ancestry is a small surprise: it has nothing to do with roses. The first element is the Germanic word for a horse and the second is lind, which named a shield made of lime wood and came to mean soft or gentle from the material. French speakers heard rose and the name was reinterpreted. Roslynn takes whichever front a family had and adds a modern ending, and the horse is still under there.
