The story of Raymund
Raymond of Penyafort was a Catalan Dominican who compiled a great collection of church law for Pope Gregory IX. The legend told of him is that when the king of Aragon refused him passage home from Majorca, he spread his cloak on the sea and sailed to Barcelona on it. Medieval clerks wrote his name, and every Raymond's, in Latin as Raymundus, and the English and German spelling Raymund keeps that u where French and English usually wrote Raymond.
