The story of Menno
Menno Simons was a Dutch Catholic priest who joined the Anabaptists in 1536 and spent twenty-five years traveling, writing and organizing the scattered congregations; the movement took his name. Frisian and Dutch families have used the name since, and it reached America with Mennonite and Frisian emigration. It appears in American records in real numbers around 1900, mostly in Mennonite communities.
