Where it comes from

Our story of Landan

Ours, offered as ours. Landon and London look alike and are unrelated: Landon is Old English for a long hill, while London's name is pre-English, probably Celtic, and has resisted explanation for centuries — proposals include a personal name, a word for a wild place and a river name, none secure. So the plain village name has an explanation and the great capital does not, which is a fair summary of how place-name evidence usually works.

Meaning

long hill

From Old English lang, long, and dun, a hill or down; the same second element names the North and South Downs and closes Ashdown, Snowdon and Huntingdon. It has nothing to do with the city of London.
