The story of Kimberlee
Diamonds were found at Kimberley in 1871 and the Big Hole dug there is one of the largest excavations ever made by hand. The town was named for the Colonial Secretary, whose title came from a Norfolk village, whose name preserves an Anglo-Saxon woman called Cyneburg. The chain runs backwards from a diamond mine to a woman nobody remembers. American use peaked in the 1960s.
Meaning

The Jacalyn test
Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Kimberlee's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Jacalyn climbed just as high around 1954, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Jacalyn's path sketches the road Kimberlee is walking now.
