Our story of Keilyn
Ours, offered as ours. The -lyn ending got into American naming sideways: Linda and Carolyn and Marilyn end that way for unrelated reasons, and once enough names shared the sound, parents began treating it as a detachable part that could be added to anything. Keilyn, Jaylyn, Braelyn and Ashlyn are all products of that. The ending is doing the work of a suffix in a language that never had one there.
Meaningnot established
Not established
No source is established. The -lyn ending descends from Welsh Lynn, a lake, by way of Linda and Carolyn, where it was never a separate word. The Kei- opening has no fixed source.

About 1 girl in 19,134 born in 2025 was given one of these spellings — against 1 in 53,576 for Keilyn itself.
Spellings are grouped by a fixed rule that folds interchangeable English spellings of one sound (ck/k, ph/f, x/ks, a non-initial y for i) and keeps vowels apart, so Sean and Shawn stay separate names. It errs towards splitting: a family here is never larger than the truth. SSA national data, 2025. Method
