Cadence entered American girls' naming around 2000 and climbed into the top two hundred, which is where the interesting part starts. A word name that becomes strongly feminine is normally lost to boys permanently — that is what happened to Ashley, Shannon, Lynn and Kelly. Cadence has partly resisted, and the resistance is spelled: Kaiden, Kaden and Kayden were among the largest boys' names of the 2000s, and Kaidence takes the same opening and attaches it to the word. The result reads as a member of the Kaiden family rather than as a form of Cadence, which is exactly what it needs to do. Its 2020 peak is recent and the name is still small.
