Kaiden
Feminine
Kaiden is given to boys far more often — 52,562 boys against 1,594 girls since 1880. See Kaiden as a boy name
Names usually cross to girls on the way down, once the boys' use is already fading. Kaiden did not. It crossed while the boys' version was still climbing, and for several years in the late 2000s the same spelling was rising in both columns at once. That is unusual, and it is worth noticing when it happens.

From Caden to Kaiden
Our story of Kaiden
Our reading is that a simultaneous crossing tells you something about how the name was being heard. The usual pattern is sequential: a boys' name becomes visible, some families give it to daughters, the male use declines because parents avoid a name that has become ambiguous, and within a generation it is female only. That requires the name to have an established male identity to erode. The -aden family did not have one. It was new, it was enormous, it had no history, and its sound, an open vowel and a reduced ending, is not strongly sexed in English. Parents on both sides were choosing a fashionable sound rather than adopting a name from the other column, which is why both rose together. The family's endings did the sexing afterwards, with -en and -on leaning male and -yn and -ynn leaning female.
Meaningnot established
Not established
Kaiden belongs to the -aden rhyme family of American coinages of the 1990s and 2000s and has no source in any language. Glosses giving it a Welsh or Arabic meaning are attached to the sound after the fact. The female use rises through the 2000s alongside the male, rather than after it, and peaks for girls in 2009.

About 1 girl in 19,365 born in 2025 was given one of these spellings — against 1 in 133,939 for Kaiden itself.
Spellings are grouped by a fixed rule that folds interchangeable English spellings of one sound (ck/k, ph/f, x/ks, a non-initial y for i) and keeps vowels apart, so Sean and Shawn stay separate names. It errs towards splitting: a family here is never larger than the truth. SSA national data, 2025. Method

The Jeanett test
Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Kaiden's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Jeanett climbed just as high around 1903, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Jeanett's path sketches the road Kaiden is walking now.
Kaiden sits in the calm middle of the cycle — neither chasing a wave nor sliding off one. Middle-of-the-cycle names age slowly and predictably.
