Our story of Jennah
Ours, offered as ours. The Arabic root j-n-n means to cover or hide, and it produces an unusually wide family: jannah, a garden, because the foliage covers the earth; jinn, the hidden beings; junun, madness, because the mind is veiled; and janin, an embryo, concealed in the womb. One root, five entirely different concepts, all built on the idea of something covered. The English Jenna is separate and much shallower.

garden, paradise
Arabic jannah means a garden and, in religious usage, paradise; the root means to cover or conceal, since a garden's trees hide the ground. Separately Jenna is an English name of uncertain origin, possibly from Jennifer. Both feed this spelling.

About 1 girl in 3,398 born in 2025 was given one of these spellings — against 1 in 50,227 for Jennah itself.
Spellings are grouped by a fixed rule that folds interchangeable English spellings of one sound (ck/k, ph/f, x/ks, a non-initial y for i) and keeps vowels apart, so Sean and Shawn stay separate names. It errs towards splitting: a family here is never larger than the truth. SSA national data, 2025. Method

The Annita test
Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Jennah's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Annita climbed just as high around 1941, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Annita's path sketches the road Jennah is walking now.
