Harlan is a Yorkshire place and surname whose first element is either a hare or a boundary marker, and nobody can settle which. American naming took the surname as a boys' name in the nineteenth century, then attached the all-purpose -lynn for girls in the 2010s. Harlynn appears in that decade, and the ending is as new as that.
