Emmarose
Feminine · “whole”
Emmarose is two of the most popular girls' names of the last twenty years run together into one. Emma was the most-used American girls' name for most of the 2000s and 2010s; Rose is the most-attached second element in modern American naming. Joining them into a single word revives a habit that had been dormant since about 1940. Its peak is 2015.

The story of Emmarose
American naming ran two-name compounds heavily between about 1890 and 1940 — Annamae, Bettylou, Maryanne, Rosemarie, Sarahjane — and then stopped almost entirely. The habit returned after about 2005, and the modern version has a specific shape: the first element is a top-ten name and the second is drawn from a very small set of soft one-syllable names, overwhelmingly Rose, Grace, Claire, Mae and Jane. Emmarose, Emmagrace, Avaclaire and Lilyrose are all built this way. The merged spelling is partly a family choice and partly administrative — a form that allows one given-name field turns Emma Rose into Emmarose whether or not that was intended.
Meaning
'whole, universal' joined to the flower
Emma is Germanic, a short form of names beginning with ermen or irmin, 'whole, universal, entire' — the same element in Irmgard and Ermintrude. It came to England with Emma of Normandy, wife of two kings and mother of two more. Rose is either the flower, from Latin rosa, or the Germanic name Hrodohaidis, 'famous kind', which English absorbed and reinterpreted as the flower. Both halves are settled; the compound adds nothing lexical.

The Lynae test
Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Emmarose's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Lynae climbed just as high around 1968, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Lynae's path sketches the road Emmarose is walking now.
Emmarose sits in the calm middle of the cycle — neither chasing a wave nor sliding off one. Middle-of-the-cycle names age slowly and predictably.

The trade-off
- Both halves are complete, universally known names available as fallbacks.
- The pronunciation is obvious and requires no explanation.
- It gives a very common first name a distinguishing second half.
- The merged spelling will be split into two names by many systems and by many people.
- Emma is extremely common, so the distinguishing work all falls on the second half.
- Emmarose, Emma-Rose and Emma Rose all circulate as the same name.
