The story of Edmond
Edmund the Martyr was a ninth-century king of East Anglia killed by the Great Heathen Army, and his shrine at Bury St Edmunds made him England's patron saint for three centuries before George displaced him. French took the name as Edmond, and English used both spellings. Edmond crossed to America and peaked around 1918.
Meaning
