Our story of Breon
Ours, offered as ours. Brian Boru died at Clontarf in 1014 and became the name that Ireland kept longest — it was in use before the Vikings and it is in use now, which very few names manage. Breon sits close to it without descending from it in any documented way, and it belongs equally well to the Bre- and -on families that American naming built in the late twentieth century. Two entirely different histories, one sound, and no way to tell which a given family meant.
Meaningnot established
Not established
No source is established for this spelling. Brian, its nearest neighbor, has a disputed origin — readings include a word for high or noble and one for a hill — and none is settled. The Bre- opening and -on ending of modern American naming are the other likely source.

The Alfonza test
Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Breon's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Alfonza climbed just as high around 1945, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Alfonza's path sketches the road Breon is walking now.
Breon sits in the calm middle of the cycle — neither chasing a wave nor sliding off one. Middle-of-the-cycle names age slowly and predictably.
