The story of Geronimo
Hieronymus of Stridon translated the Hebrew and Greek scriptures into the Latin that Western Christendom used for a thousand years, and his name spread with his reputation — Jerome in English and French, Girolamo and Geronimo in Italian, Jerónimo in Spanish. The Apache leader known as Geronimo was given the name by Mexican soldiers; his own name was Goyathlay. Both facts belong to the word, and the second is far better known.
