The story of Avree
Germanic naming treated elves as a source of power worth invoking, and the element turns up all over the oldest English and continental name stock: Alfred is elf-counsel, Alvin is elf-friend, Aubrey and Avery both descend from Alberich, elf-ruler. These were not whimsical names. Elves in that world were forces to be reckoned with, capable of harm as readily as help, and naming a child with the element made a claim about the kind of luck the family expected. The Normans brought Alberich to England in its French form and the surname Avery came out of it, and the modern American given name comes from the surname rather than directly from the old name. Avree keeps the sound and drops the history, which is what respelling does.
Meaning

Avery is an English surname from the Norman French form of Germanic Alberich, from alf, an elf, and ric, ruler or power. The same root gives Aubrey. Avree is a modern American respelling of the sound; its peak is 2012.

Avree's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Angelisa climbed just as high around 1969, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Angelisa's path sketches the road Avree is walking now.
Avree sits in the calm middle of the cycle — neither chasing a wave nor sliding off one. Middle-of-the-cycle names age slowly and predictably.
