The story of Xavion
Francis Xavier took his surname from the castle of his birth in Navarre and carried the Jesuit mission to Asia. Separately, the -vion ending was productive in American naming from the 1980s. Xavion appears in the American registers in the 1990s from both directions and is in current use.

the new house
The likeliest route runs through Xavier, from the Basque etxeberria, 'the new house'. The -vion ending is an American naming component from Davion and Javion. Whether Xavion descends from Xavier or was built on the same pattern as the others is not documented.

The Dutch test
Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Xavion's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Dutch climbed just as high around 1903, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Dutch's path sketches the road Xavion is walking now.
Xavion sits in the calm middle of the cycle — neither chasing a wave nor sliding off one. Middle-of-the-cycle names age slowly and predictably.

The trade-off
- The new-house meaning is concrete where the Xavier route holds.
- Zay and Xav are two short forms, both with real currency.
- Three syllables with a front stress, which holds up against a short surname.
- The descent from Xavier is likely but not documented.
- The X will be misread as ex by people meeting it on paper.
- Zavion and Javion are close enough to cause confusion.
