The story of Tyron
Tír Eoghain was a real lordship, held by the O'Neills until the seventeenth century, and its name became a county name under English administration. Irish emigration carried it to America as a surname and a place name, and it moved into given-name use in the twentieth century — helped by a well-known American actor and by its rise in African-American naming in the 1960s and 1970s. Tyron without the e is one of the spellings that followed.
Meaning

From Irish Tír Eoghain, the territory of Eoghan; Eoghan is an old Irish name usually read as born of the yew, and the O'Neills of Tyrone traced descent from a man of that name.

Tyron's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Werner climbed just as high around 1930, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Werner's path sketches the road Tyron is walking now.
