Our story of Tremell
Cornwall's map is built from a small set of words: tre, a farmstead, pol, a pool, pen, a headland or end, lan, a church enclosure, porth, a harbor, ros, a moor. Trelawney, Trevose, Polperro, Penzance and Lanhydrock are all transparent to anyone who knows the language, which almost nobody now does, and the rhyme about Tre, Pol and Pen was a way of identifying a Cornish surname on sight. American naming built Tremell, Tremaine and Trevon out of a similar-sounding opening with no connection to any of it, which is the ordinary situation: a shape becomes productive because it sounds right, and the words that gave it the shape are not consulted. Knowing the difference is what separates a description from an invention.
Meaningnot established
Not established
Tremell is an American formation from the Tre- opening and the -ell ending, neither of which carries meaning here. The Cornish element tre, a farmstead, which opens Trevor, Tremayne and hundreds of place names, is not its source. The peak is 1966.

Line the two peaks up, and Simone's path sketches the road Tremell is walking now.
Tremell sits in the calm middle of the cycle — neither chasing a wave nor sliding off one. Middle-of-the-cycle names age slowly and predictably.
