The story of Tarun
Sanskrit grammar assigns gender to adjectives, and the ending changes with it, so an adjective used as a name automatically has a masculine and a feminine form differing only in the final vowel. That is why Indian naming produces so many matched pairs, and why the sex of a name is usually readable at sight in a way it is not in English. English has no such system: it borrowed its feminine endings from four different languages and applies them irregularly, so Daniel gives Danielle, Daniela, Danella and Danita with no rule. The Sanskrit word itself covers a wide field, describing a young person, a fresh plant, new growth and the early stage of anything, and it is a common element in Indian names and in ordinary speech.

The Brewster test
Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Tarun's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Brewster climbed just as high around 1914, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Brewster's path sketches the road Tarun is walking now.
Tarun sits in the calm middle of the cycle — neither chasing a wave nor sliding off one. Middle-of-the-cycle names age slowly and predictably.
