Our story of Taron
Ours, offered as ours. Taron was the district around Mush, west of Lake Van, and it mattered enormously in Armenian history — the Mamikonian family held it, and Gregory the Illuminator's mission ran through it. Armenian naming draws on its geography the way Irish naming draws on its saints. Whether an American Taron has any connection is unrecorded, and the plain and its history are the most substantial thing standing behind the sound.

Not established
The Armenian region name Taron has no settled derivation; it is old enough that its origin is lost. A separate modern American Taron may be built from Tyrone or from Ta- plus -ron, and Welsh has a river Taron. None is established for a given family.

Taron's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Beauford climbed just as high around 1934, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Beauford's path sketches the road Taron is walking now.
