Sriram
Masculine · “revered Rama”
Sri is not part of the name. It is an honorific, the Sanskrit word placed before a god's or a respected person's name much as English uses Sir or Saint, and Sriram is Rama with the respect already fused on, so the name arrives carrying its own courtesy.

The story of Sriram
The Ramayana is one of the two great Sanskrit epics and Rama is among the most-worshipped figures in Hinduism, so the phrase Sri Rama is heard constantly: it is a greeting, an invocation and a form of address. Fusing the honorific onto the name and using the whole as a given name is standard practice in South India in particular, where compound god-names like Sriram, Srinivasa and Ramakrishna are ordinary. The name reached United States records with Indian migration and had its best year in 2003. English has nothing quite equivalent; naming a child Saint-Peter as one word would be the nearest comparison.
Meaning
revered Rama, from words for radiance and for pleasing
Sanskrit shri means radiance, splendor and prosperity, and is used as an honorific prefix and as a name of the goddess Lakshmi. Rama means pleasing, charming or dark, and belongs to the hero of the Ramayana, an incarnation of Vishnu. The compound is the standard respectful form of the god's name, used in greeting and in prayer across India.

The Hansen test
Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Sriram's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Hansen climbed just as high around 1963, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Hansen's path sketches the road Sriram is walking now.
Sriram sits in the calm middle of the cycle — neither chasing a wave nor sliding off one. Middle-of-the-cycle names age slowly and predictably.
