Our story of Shequita
Paquita, the Spanish pet form of Francisca, gave its name to a ballet first staged in Paris in 1846 and revived by Marius Petipa in St Petersburg, where its grand final dance is still performed: a gypsy girl in Napoleonic Spain turns out to be a French noblewoman kidnapped as a child. Shequita borrows only the -quita of that name and puts it after a She- of its own era. It sounds lively and quick on its feet.

Fashion outlook
Shequita sits outside the current charts, and that is its own kind of answer: naming cycles can only date the names they carried up. A name this rare has no decade stamped on it — it cannot go out of fashion, because it was never in.
