The story of Quinten

Meaning
fifth
From the Latin quintus, 'fifth', through the Roman name Quintinus. Roman practice of naming later children by number is well documented — Quintus, Sextus, Septimus, Octavius, Decimus. The Latin is ordinary and the reading undisputed.

The Curtiss test
Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Quinten's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Curtiss climbed just as high around 1943, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Curtiss's path sketches the road Quinten is walking now.
Quinten sits in the calm middle of the cycle — neither chasing a wave nor sliding off one. Middle-of-the-cycle names age slowly and predictably.
