Our story of Nyasia
Ours, offered as ours. The word Asia is much older than the landmass it names — Greek used it first for a small region of Anatolia, and the Romans made it a province with that name before it ever meant a continent. The eastward sense probably comes from an Akkadian word for sunrise. Whether Nyasia's ending has anything to do with any of that is unrecorded, and the Ny- opening is certainly American. Both facts are worth having.

Not established
No source is established. The Ny- opening is a modern American element shared with Nyla, Nyree and Nyasha. Asia as a place name is from an Akkadian word for the east or a Greek borrowing; whether the ending here draws on it is not documented.

The Ricki test
Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Nyasia's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Ricki climbed just as high around 1951, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Ricki's path sketches the road Nyasia is walking now.
Nyasia sits in the calm middle of the cycle — neither chasing a wave nor sliding off one. Middle-of-the-cycle names age slowly and predictably.
