The story of Jovita
The comparative evidence for the sky father is unusually clean: Latin Iuppiter, Greek Zeus pater, Sanskrit Dyaus Pita and Vedic usage all line up on the same two words, which means the phrase was in use before those languages separated. The Latin god kept the name and the adjective went on producing others. Jovita and Jovian and Jovinus were ordinary Roman names, and two of them belonged to a pair of brothers martyred at Brescia in the second century, Faustinus and Jovita, who are still that city's patrons. From there the name went into Spanish and Italian, where it has stayed in steady use, and into American records with families from both.
Meaning
of Jupiter
From Latin Iovita, a diminutive of Iovius, belonging to Jove. Jove is the older stem of Jupiter, which is why the adjective is Jovian and the day is Thursday in the Romance languages — jueves, giovedi, jeudi, all Jupiter's day.

The Wava test
Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Jovita's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Wava climbed just as high around 1905, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Wava's path sketches the road Jovita is walking now.
Jovita sits in the calm middle of the cycle — neither chasing a wave nor sliding off one. Middle-of-the-cycle names age slowly and predictably.
