The story of Joesiah
The reign of Josiah is one of the pivots of the Hebrew Bible: a rediscovered scroll, a national reform, and a death in battle at Megiddo that the writers clearly did not expect. English Protestants took the name up after the Reformation and it was well used in colonial America. It came back strongly in the two-thousands, and the respellings arrived with it, Joesiah among them, written so that the first syllable reads as the familiar Joe.

The Bon test
Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Joesiah's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Bon climbed just as high around 1938, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Bon's path sketches the road Joesiah is walking now.
Joesiah sits in the calm middle of the cycle — neither chasing a wave nor sliding off one. Middle-of-the-cycle names age slowly and predictably.
