Our story of Jadyn
Jaden's American rise is one of the steepest on record. It is essentially absent before 1990, appears in the top thousand in 1994, and reaches the top hundred by 2000 — a decade from nothing. Two things pushed it: the -aden ending was already the most productive sound in American boys' naming, and Will Smith named his son Jaden in 1998, which put the name on television constantly. What followed was spelling proliferation on a scale few names have matched: Jaden, Jayden, Jadyn, Jaiden, Jaeden, Jaydin, Jadin and more, for both sexes. Jadyn's boys' peak in 2005 sits inside the family's crest, and the record counts every spelling separately, which badly understates the whole.
Meaningnot established
Not established
No source establishes an etymology. Three accounts circulate. Jadon is a minor biblical name in Nehemiah 3:7, from a Hebrew root generally read as he will judge or he thanks. Jade, the stone, is separately proposed. And a formation on the -aden ending shared with Aiden, Braden and Caden is the third. None is documented as the source, and Jaden's rise in the 1990s is too fast and too broad to be traced to one.

The Tab test
Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Jadyn's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Tab climbed just as high around 1957, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Tab's path sketches the road Jadyn is walking now.
Jadyn sits in the calm middle of the cycle — neither chasing a wave nor sliding off one. Middle-of-the-cycle names age slowly and predictably.
