The story of Hasani
Swahili grew on the East African coast from Bantu roots with heavy Arabic borrowing through centuries of Indian Ocean trade, and its naming stock reflects that — Hasani, Hamisi, Juma, Rashidi are all Arabic names with Swahili endings. Hasan ibn Ali was the Prophet's grandson and briefly caliph. The name reaches American records with East African families and through African-American naming.
Meaning
handsome, good
From Arabic hasan, good or beautiful; Swahili added the final vowel that its phonology requires, as it does with a great many Arabic borrowings. Hasan was the Prophet's grandson.

The Rojelio test
Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Hasani's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Rojelio climbed just as high around 1952, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Rojelio's path sketches the road Hasani is walking now.
Hasani sits in the calm middle of the cycle — neither chasing a wave nor sliding off one. Middle-of-the-cycle names age slowly and predictably.
