Ginamarie
Feminine
Ginamarie is two names written without the space, and the second of them was, for several centuries of Catholic practice, not really a choice at all. Marie was what a great many daughters were given after their first name — a dedication rather than a decision, and so nearly universal in some communities that it functioned as punctuation.

The story of Ginamarie
The second element was a devotional habit before it was a fashion. In Italian, French and Irish Catholic families a daughter's second name was very often Marie or Maria, given for the Virgin, and sons could carry it too — a boy christened with Maria as a middle name was ordinary in Italy and Bavaria and startles English speakers who meet it. Because everybody had it, it stopped carrying information, and once a name stops carrying information it can fuse with whatever stands next to it. That is what happened here: a first name and a dedication, said together so often that a clerk wrote them as one word. The front half was helped along by an Italian actress called Gina Lollobrigida, who was on American screens throughout the years this compound appears.
Meaningnot established
Not established
Gina is a clipping — of Regina, Luigina, Georgina or Angelina, depending on the family, and by the middle of the last century it was being given on its own with no longer name behind it. Marie is the French form of Mary. The compound has no meaning of its own; it is two names that a family used together often enough that the space between them stopped being written.

Fashion outlook
Ginamarie sits outside the current charts, and that is its own kind of answer: naming cycles can only date the names they carried up. A name this rare has no decade stamped on it — it cannot go out of fashion, because it was never in.

The trade-off
- Both halves are complete names, so there are two ready-made short forms with nothing invented.
- It says something specific about a family's background without needing explanation.
- It is genuinely rare as a written form while being entirely familiar in sound.
- Every form she fills in will try to split it into a first name and a middle name.
- Four syllables is long, and most people will shorten it whether or not she wants them to.
- The fused spelling reads as an error to people unfamiliar with the practice.
